TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER. THE CONTACT STATED THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT BELT BUCKLE FAILED TO FASTEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER DENIED ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIR. THE VIN INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILES WERE 135,000.

DURING MODERATE ACCELERATION THE VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE AFTER RELEASING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE PEDAL NEEDS TO BE SHARPLY DEPRESSED IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO DECELERATE OR TO RETURN TO THE CORRECT RPM. THE FAILURE IS CAUSED BY A STICKING IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE.

AFTER ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE WERE MADE. RIGHT AFTER THE WARRANTY RAN OUT, MY DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT INFORMED ME THAT MY ENGINE WAS DAMAGED, LEAKING OIL AND ANTIFREEZE. AND THAT THE REPAIR BILL WOULD BE A LARGE AMOUNT(1500.00). DEALER SAID HAVE IT REPAIRED ON MY NEXT MAINTENANCE INTERVAL. I HAVE CHECKED ON THE INTERNET FORUMS AND OTHER OWNERS OF THIS BRAND OF VEHICLE ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT I HAVE. *TR

LOCKING SYSTEM. I HAVE HAD MY TRUCK IN SEVERAL TIMES OVER THIS ISSUE. THEY HAVE CLEANED AND REPLACED CONNECTIONS. THEY ALSO REPLACED THE DOOR LOCK AND WIRING HARNESS AND 3 YEARS LATER I CAN NOT DRIVE MY TRUCK AND LEAVE IT . IT WILL NOT STAY LOCKED. THE SERVICE DEPT. EITHER LOOKS AT IT AND DOESN'T NOTE IT ON THE SERVICE RECORDS OR JUST IGNORES MY REQUEST. I HAVE EVEN HAD ON STATE.... THE PROBLEM COULD BE AN AIRPLANE OR GARAGE DOOR OPENER.. HA. I PAID FOR A HIGH END TRUCK AND FOR A YEAR OR BETTER I CAN'T DRIVE IT ANYWHERE. EVEN SETTING IN MY DRIVEWAY .. THE LOCKS GO UP AND DOWN.. SOME TIMES ONE DOOR WILL LOCK AND NOT ALL AND OTHERS I USE THE TAIL GATE AT ALL. IT WON'T OPEN. I AM VERY UPSET OVER THIS WHOLE ISSUE AND THE WAY THE SERVICE DEPT HAS BLOWN ME OFF. *JB

DT: THE CONTACT STATED THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM , LEVELING SYSTEM, IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. IT TAKES FIVE MINUTES FOR THE SYSTEM TO STABILIZE TO A SAFE DRIVING HEIGHT. THE FIRST TIME THE SYSTEM FAILED IT TOOK SEVERAL MINUTES TO STABILIZE TO THE CORRECT LEVELING CYCLE. IT EVENTUALLY WENT TO THE NEXT LEVEL OF ALERT AND RELAYED A MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD NOT TO EXCEED 35 MPH. WHEN TRAVELING UNDER 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE FELT AS IF THERE WERE NO SHOCK ABSORBERS. NORMALLY IT TOOK ONLY SECONDS TO REACH THE CORRECT CYCLE. THE DEALERSHIP HAD IT FOR TWO WEEKS. THE CONTACT ASSUMED THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER THE VEHICLE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THE LIGHT BLINKED INDICATING A FAILURE IN THE SYSTEM TO MAINTAIN THE CORRECT LEVELING CYCLE. THE DEALERSHIP WILL INSPECT THE VEHICLE, ALTHOUGH THEY WERE UNABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME. THE DEALER MADE NO ACTUAL REPAIRS AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT. THE CONTACT ASSUMED THE DEALER ONLY RESET THE SYSTEM, BUT DID NOT ASK FOR A LIST OF SPECIFIC REPAIRS FROM THE DEALERSHIP. *AK
